Ashanti brought a bit of holiday cheer and festive fun to LIVE with Kelly and Michael yesterday. The diva performed the classic “This Christmas” from her 2003 holiday album Ashanti’s Christmas.
The singer recently announced that she’s joining the cast of Army Wives in the show’s seventh season. Ashanti will play Latasha Durant, an optimistic mother of three who suffers from cystic fibrosis. The new season of Army Wives is set to begin filming this month. The former Murder Inc. star is also planning to release new music in the spring of 2013.
