Last night’s episode of American Idol saw one of the fiercest performances yet.
Rising star and finalist Zoanette Johnson impressed the judges and viewers at home with her animated rendition of “Circle of Life.” Johnson, 20, from Oklahoma by way of Liberia, brought the crowd in Las Vegas to its feet. Judge Mariah Carey said, “It’s almost like your spirit is too big to be contained. That is what you wanted to give everyone tonight.” Nicki Minaj agreed, “I’m so proud of you… You’re the person we are going to remember after tonight.”
