A new tell-all book about the First Family paints a not-so favorable picture of First Lady Michelle Obama.

New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor’s new book “The Obamas” characterizes Mrs. Obama as a vocal critic to many of her husband’s staff’s decisions, and thereby causing friction in the White House.

In a candid interview with Gayle King on CBS’s “This Morning” today, Mrs. O. makes one thing very clear — those claims are false.

“I guess it’s more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here and a strong woman and — you know? But that’s been an image that people tried to paint of me… that I’m some angry Black woman,” she says. “I just try to be me. My hope is that over time people get to know me and that they get to judge me for me.”

When asked if she would ever pick up the controversial book for a quick read, she replied, “This is why I don’t read these books, it’s a game in so many ways — who can write about how I feel? What third person can tell me how I feel. Or anybody for that matter?”
