Grand Jury Reportedly Will Hear Evidence Against R. Kelly After New Tape Surfaces

A grand jury is reportedly being assembled following recent reports of a resurfaced videotape, featuring R. Kelly engaging in sexual acts with an underage girl.

CNN reports that sources reveal that a grand jury has been convened in Cook County, Illinois. Still, the Cook County State’s Attorney has not confirmed that a jury is being assembled or that a new investigation has been opened.

However, R. Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, told CNN that he had not been made aware of any new investigation.

“No one from law enforcement has contacted me or my client regarding any potential investigation. Certainly they are aware that I am representing him so if there were any reason to speak to him I would suspect they would have reached out to me,” he said.
