This Is The Only Topic That's Off Limits In Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade's Home

The Wades reveal their dinner table talk rules.
This Is The Only Topic That’s Off Limits In Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s Home

When Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwyane Wade are around the dinner table having discussions with their sons about things going on in the world, they try to be open books. However, when it comes to things they read or heard from an unreliable source, the rules are different — no sharing allowed.

“The only thing we don’t subscribe to is gossip,” the actress shared. “If it didn’t happen to you, if you can’t find your source, I don’t wanna hear about something you heard about on a blog, especially about somebody that we know in our lives. We just don’t subscribe to gossip and rumor at our dinner table. That’s, it’s like eating the worst thing for you and then wondering why the weight isn’t falling off.”

Instead, Union and her NBA hubby allow their children to engage and react to more worldly matters with any question or commentary they might have.

“We wanna feed our souls, so by feeding our souls, especially around the holidays, in our household, that is to talk about politics and sexuality, sexism, racism, misogyny, Islamophobia,” the 44-year-old went on to add. “We get it all out there, because we want our kids to be as informed as possible, and to formulate their own opinions, not just adopt ours. So we add, but talking about like, gossip, and stuff, that, you know, “Oh, I heard, what about this.” And since, no, we’re not, that’s super, that’s, I want to talk about facts.”

That’s the kind of table talk we like to have.
