Ladies, do you recognize this man? With 10 years in the business working as a top fitness and commercial model and rising TV and soap actor, we’re certain that you’ve seen this pretty face around a time or two. His name is Max Tapper, and the caramel cutie has his sights set on big time success in Hollywood. Are you ready to meet Max?
Born to Jamaican parents, Tapper grew up in Brooklyn, and his family moved to upstate New York when he was thirteen. He made his way to Philadelphia after being accepted into Temple University, and today he resides in New Jersey with his six-year old son.
After graduating college with a degree in Exercise-Science and Kinesiology, Tapper embarked on a career in personal training. In 2002, while training a client, he caught the eye of a Playboy magazine executive. He was immediately booked for a fashion editorial in the popular men’s magazine, which subsequently launched his successful modeling career.
Max’s 6’5’’, all-muscle, 230-pound frame is a scene-stealer for sure. He tells us fitness has always been a top priority for him, and sticking with it will only help him further his career.
Tapper is currently working on a personal webisode project he’s very passionate about, and he wants fans to stay on the lookout for a sexy calendar he has in the works. “I always like taking new photos,” he admits. “It’s gonna be fun, promise.”
Tapper originally planned to become a chiropractor, but once his modeling and acting career took off, he decided to go with the flow.
In 2006, Tapper was tapped to play an assassin on HBO’s hit television drama The Wire, and by 2008, was handpicked to star as Anton Rix in Sony’s web-series Who Is Johnny X?
“I love what I do,” says Tapper. “To me, there’s nothing more important than freedom and being able to creatively express yourself.”
“I have a lot of fun just people watching in Manhattan,” says Tapper. “The majority of my work life has been very active, so when I get free time, I really just want to relax.” As if modeling and acting haven’t kept this hunk busy enough, Tapper tells us that he had a passion for rapping and music producing long before he stepped in front of the cameras. Is it just us, or is he giving you some seriously sexy early-days LL Cool J vibes?
“I still have further to go,” admits Tapper. “But, as far as guys my size go, I’ve really been very successful within the modeling industry. I feel like I’ve had a lot of great opportunities. I’m really happy about that.”
“I’m willing to do it all, so when opportunities come around, I’m down,” says Tapper. “I’ll give it a shot and see if I like it.”
Tapper is a family man. He has an older sister and keeps in close contact with her and his mom and dad. “You’ve gotta stay close with your family,” he says. “They’re number one.”
“I’m an awesome cook,” says Tapper. “I’m the grill commando. My specialty is barbecue. If you’re having a cookout, you better invite me to it.”
Tapper played Detective Theodore Price on One Life to Live before the popular daytime soap opera was cancelled. He had a nice following while on the show, and if you’re one of those fans, Tapper has good news: “It has been picked back up, and I’m working on getting back on the new show to resume my character.”
Tapper recently shot an episode of the hit USA series White Collar and will appear in upcoming episodes of the network’s hit sitcom Royal Pains.
Shirt on or off, there’s so much to enjoy when Tapper’s in the building. Ladies, do you like a man as smooth and fit as he is?
