Tika gave birth to her daughter in October with fiancé, Nicholas James who she met on the set of their OWN show “The Haves and the Have Nots.” While the pair have been mum about their relationship, she revealed on “The Real” that he proposed over the holidays.
“It was a letter of just beauty,” she said about the letter he penned to pop the question, “and [then] he proposed!”
[BLANK_AUDIO] I think of course congratulations are in order- Thank you. I was trying to get you to hold the baby until my birthday December 30th but apparently nobody's really into that. [LAUGH] I understand. Yeah. Do you know what you're having, are you sharing the sex of the baby? Yes. I'm having a little girl. >. Congratulations. Yeah I'm so excited and She can read Essence. No, she can't. Do you have a name picked out? Not yet, we're still trying to figure it out. That's like a really important thing. So we wanna make sure it's right, but yeah. My best friend, she just had a baby last week and she's saying that a lot of other moms are giving her tons of advice. Are you getting a lot of mom advice? Advice. Yeah, I get advice from everybody. [LAUGH] But I'm the most relaxed pregnant woman you'll ever meet. My nursery's not done, I'm having the baby soon. [LAUGH] It could happen literally right now. I just feel like, you know what, people have been doing this for a really long time, having babies These, and it'll come out and she'll be okay. [LAUGH] You know what I mean? I'm just very chill about it. I'm not going to go crazy over it. No definitely. But I'm excited. That's awesome. And John Legend was executive producer on the phone. Yes. He's also a new dad. He is. What was it like working together? Did you all exchange stories and that sort of thing? Actually he. Saw one of the first edits of the film, and was really inspired by it. And decided to write an original song called Start, and- He was really good at that. Yes, because he's amazing. And he came onboard as an executive producer. But I asked him, how is it with the baby? He's like, sometimes great, sometimes not. [LAUGH] [LAUGH] Very honest. Yeah, that was like, that's the truth, you know it Amy. Need. So I guess Little Loon is teething right now, so, you know. Sleep when the baby sleeps. That's my advice. Yes. Yeah, he gives good advice. When the baby sleeps, you sleep. Don't worry about cleaning, none of that. Just take care of the baby, take care of yourself, for the first year. You're fine. I love you Park. [BLANK_AUDIO]
