Cardi B Opens Up About ‘Annoying’ Postpartum Emotions

Cardi B Opens Up About ‘Annoying’ Postpartum Emotions
By Britni Danielle · Updated October 23, 2020
Motherhood is one of the most difficult tasks in the world, and increasingly, it seems more women feel comfortable talking about it. Fresh off the heels of Beyoncé’s revelation that she had to have an emergency C-section to give birth to her twins, and Serena Williams’ confession that managing her emotions has sometimes been difficult postpartum, rapper and new mom Cardi B is also weighing in on her experience. Recently, she took to Instagram to admit that managing her postpartum feelings has been tough. “This postpartum s—t is annoying,” Cardi wrote on Instagram Stories. “Like I been emotional all f—king day for no reason.”

1 week after birth ❤️🎀

A post shared by Cardi B Official IG (@iamcardib) on Aug 7, 2018 at 4:13pm PDT

Cardi is known for sharing her irreverent observations about life and her career on social media, so it’s no surprise that she’d keep it 100 about her journey as a mom. While Cardi’s fans have been supportive of her time as a new mom, many were disappointed when she pulled out of Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic World Tour because she “underestimated this whole mommy thing.”

Sorry guys ,Thank you @BrunoMars for being so supportive and understanding .Your the best ❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/ds9HE61i9j

“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that six weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” she wrote. “I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.” Like many new moms, it’s taking Cardi some time to find her groove, but she’ll get there. The hitmaker will also return to the stage, though a little later than planned. She’s set to headline the Global Citizens Festival in New York on September 29, and the “Bodak Yellow” rapper will headline San Antonio’s Mala Luna Festival, taking place in October. In the meantime, we hope Cardi gets all the rest and support she needs.
