Summer is fast approaching and sometimes you just need a little reassurance before you hit the beach in your swimsuit.
That was the case for singer Monica, who revealed on Instagram that for the first time in her life, her weight isn’t what she’s used to but there is one special person in her life who loves the skin she’s in just as she is.
“My first time ever in life weighing 140 pounds,” she wrote. “None of my clothes fit… So I FaceTimed my husband to tell him I GOT to get in the gym ASAP… Before I got out a word he said, ‘Damn you look good in your bathing suit’ and I was back to Miss Thang LOL… When they love you they lift you ……. Thank you Baby…”
Monica is away on an Anguillan adventure, soaking up the sun and basking in the beach bliss with her sons, Rocko, Romelo, and daughter, Laiyah.
The Atlanta native and singer and her husband, Shannon Brown, met when the former NBA star starred in the music video for her song, “Love All Over Me” in 2010. The couple secretly tied the knot in November of that year and have in the glow of love ever since.
We’re glad Monica got the vote of confidence she needed because there is nothing like having bae remind you that you are indeed a snack–no matter what you weigh!
