After just one very short debut season, Mike Epps’ hilarious new ABC comedy series Uncle Buck has been cancelled.
According to Variety, the ABC network confirmed the cancellation on social media shortly after cast member James Lesure first revealed the news via his Twitter account on Wednesday morning.
The show’s leading lady Nia Long later chimed in to voice her disappointment in the show’s abrupt ending, calling it ‘a tough pill to swallow.’ She then elaborated further on social media with several tweets, thanking ABC and the show’s producer Will Packer for the opportunity to be a part of their short run on primetime.

Rounding out the bittersweet cast commentary on the show’s cancellation, Uncle Buck star Mike Epps shared a brief message with fans on his Instagram account, where he also thanked ABC and expressed disappointment.
Uncle Buck premiered on ABC on June 14, with the season one finale airing less than a month later on July 5.
