To say the Obamas had an exciting year is an understatement. The First Family played host to several state dinners, parties, political events, and now multiple holiday celebrations. To catch a moment of rest the Obamas enjoyed a few vacations along the way, visiting Maine, Hawaii and Spain.As the year draws to a close and the Obamas begin to wrap gifts to place under their tree, take a look back at the First Family’s busy year…


The Obamas kicked off their year in a fabulous vacation. See Sasha and Malia getting ready to enjoy the sunny beaches of Hawaii.

First State Dinner

The First Couple looked absolutely impeccable as they wait to greet Indian President Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur at their first state dinner of the year.

Celebrating Civil Rights

The First Couple celebrated Black history month by listening to a little music. They attended the White House’s celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement.

Let’s Move!

This year Michelle Obama started her “Let’s Move” campaign to fight childhood obesity.

Spring State Dinner

In one of many state dinners of the year, President Obama and Michelle patient wait to greet the Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife Margarita Zavala in May.

First Pitch

President Obama delivered the first pitch during opening day ceremonies for the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals game.

On Top of the World

The Obamas traveled far and wide this year. Check them out atop Cadillac Mountain in Maine.

Helping Haiti

Inspired to help the people of Haiti, Mrs. Obama traveled to Port-au-Prince to help displaced children.

Dressed to Impress

Wearing Spanish inspired colors, The First Lady and Sasha arrive at the Marivent Palace in Palma de Mallorca, Spain during their girls only getaway.

Play Time

Sasha danced her way through a sunny day in Spain. Life couldn’t be sweeter for little Sasha.

In the midst of a busy vacation on the Vineyard, the first couple stole away a night of romance.

For the Obamas, quality time is family time. On their trip to Martha’s Vineyard the First Family enjoyed a round of miniature golf. Sasha even scored a whole in one.
