Since being crowned Miss Universe Sunday night, and becoming the fourth Black woman to win a major pageant title this year, Zozibini Tunzi has received worldwide recognition.
In addition to a $5 million crown, and an enviable prize package that includes a luxury apartment in New York City, fame also comes with the coveted title.
And as Tunzi pushes her platform to end gender violence against women forward in the coming year, we look forward to getting to know the 26-year-old South African Beauty Queen.
But here’s what we’ve learned about the new Miss Universe within the last twenty-four hours.
Zozibini Tunzi starts her day with pilates.
“This is truly my favorite way to start my day, stretching, breathing slowly while learning about my body muscles. I encourage everyone to try pilates at least once,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Zozibini Tunzi microblades her eyebrows.
“To think I never thought eyebrows can be such an important part of my face. I think now it’s safe to say @microblading_tattoo_neda owns 20% of my face . A face beat is never fully done without great eyebrows,” said Tunzi. And we couldn’t agree more.
Zozibini Tunzi is Black and she's proud.
"Of all the important national holidays we have in South Africa, heritage day is one of those that rank very high in my heart. It is so because of what it symbolizes. South Africa has had a very difficult past and yet today we are able to stand and celebrate our individualities, identities and rich culture together as South Africans," Tunzi shared in an Instagram post.
Zozibini Tunzi knows her angles.
Zozibini Tunzi's Instagram is a trove of gorgeous beauty shots just like this one captured by Miss USA 2019, Cheslie Kryst.
Zozibini Tunzi is Black Girl Magic personified.
"My skin absorbs the sun and my hair defies gravity. You can't tell me I'm not magical - A black woman," said Tunzi.
