On December 26, actress Taraji P. Henson debuted a new hair color that we absolutely adore. She’s now rocking a mix of violet and hibiscus in the form of a curly cut with cropped sides.
“Ooooops I did it again,” the former ESSENCE cover star wrote on Instagram in the unveiling post. Celebrities and fans alike are loving the new look from the What Men Want star and are singing Henson’s praises in the comments. “Ur literally so beautiful,” singer SZA said. “Love the shape and color .. perfection!”
Tracie Jade also weighed in, writing, “PRINCE is looking down with a BIG OLE SMILE on his face!!”
This year has been full of stunning looks from Henson—most memorably her shades of red that she wore at various lengths. Henson has dedicated some of her time during COVID-19 lockdowns to learning how to style her own curly hair and we’ve learned so much from watching her journey. “COVID 19 got me doing my own glam from head to toe!!!,” she said on Instagram in early April. She then added, “If this acting thing don’t work out I have another plan!,” with laughing emojis.
Henson also launched her own scalp-care line at the top of the year, TPH by Taraji P. Henson. The vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free line focuses cultivating healthy hair from the roots and is perfect for folks who regularly wear protective styles. “Just because you’re doing protective styles, and maybe even have long hair because of it, doesn’t mean your hair is necessarily healthy,” she told Vogue in January. “Healthy hair truly starts at the scalp, and that’s what TPH is all about.”
