VH1 is bringing back Hip Hop Honors after a six-year hiatus and for its return the event will celebrate the women who pushed boundaries and made their mark in hip hop.

The special event will also pay tribute to Queen Latifah, a multi-faceted woman who was a pioneer in the world of hip hop.

‘Hip Hop Honors’ to Return to VH1 to Celebrate Women in Rap

Latifah helped pave the way for female rappers today earning a Grammy in 1994 for Best Solo Rap Performance. She then went on to become an accomplished actress with a Golden Globe and SAG award under her belt and countless nominations, including an Oscar nomination for her role in Chicago.

VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens will air Monday, July 11 at 9p.m.
