When it comes to bold beauty actress Danai Gurira is known for her buzz cut hairstyle; which she often rocks with a beautifully-detailed design cut into one, or both, sides. At the 90th Academy Awards, Gurira took things up a notch and wore a style that left us completely in awe. Inspired by African ancestral tribal face paint Gurira’s stylist Vernon Scott created a look that paid homage to the actress’ roots. A three-dimensional design stretched from the temple of Gurira’s head to the nape of her neck. To make the look truly standout, Scott decided to paint it white using eyeliner. On his Instagram page, Scott stated he wanted to help people #knowyourhistory, by creating this culturally significant style. Gurira’s style perfectly complimented her strapless gown and made her look like the epitome of feminine strength and class. Scott and Gurira continually created pure magic during this year’s red carpet season.
