Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle are set to perform for this year's honorees.
Though Mariah Carey, Dr. Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder, Spike Lee and Beverly Kearney are set to be honored at the 2012 BET Honors — its the night’s performers who’ll be singing their praises.
Newly engaged diva Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, and Common, are confirmed to take the stage.
Stars of the upcoming film “Red Tails,” Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard, will make an appearance alongside iconic actress, Cicely Tyson. Young starlet Willow Smith will also participate in the night’s festivities — undoubtedly paying tribute to Mariah Carey or Stevie Wonder.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, proceeds from ticket sales will go to Metro TeenAIDS.
This year’s BET Honor ceremony, hosted by ESSENCE cover girl Gabrielle Union, is scheduled take place on Saturday January 14 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C.
The show airs Monday, February 13 at 9pm on BET.
