The 2014 BET awards left us with an assortment of hair looks, but one of our favorites is Marsha Ambrosius. Her sophisticated styles alway leave us wanting to know exactly how she does it and last night was no exception. We caught up with her hairstylist, Tiffany Daugherty, to weigh in on the singer-songwriter’s ‘do. “My inspiration came from Marsha’s personality which is a mix of sleek and edgy,” said Daugherty. Cute, right?! Follow these steps to get her look.

Step 1: Prep hair with the first step of the Motions Straight Finish Heat Styled System to help elongate curls.
Step 2: Use a small amount of the Straight Finish Leave-In Conditioner for added moisture to protect the hair.
Step 3: Blow dry hair with a medium paddle brush and flat iron using the Motions Straight Finish Sealer.
Step 4: Create a 4-inch square section in the middle of the crown and pin aside. Braid the rest of the hair using a fishtail technique at the nape of the neck and set using Motions Light Hold Working Spritz
Step 5: Lightly tease the section of hair at the crown for height and volume and blend into the fishtail. Finish with Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade at the hairline and Motions Hold & Shine Spray throughout.
