Die-hard Richard Pryor fans will flock to the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival this April. According to Entertainment Weekly, a new documentary about the comedian will debut.
Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic will give fans a never-before-seen look into the comedian’s life. It was directed by Marina Zenovich, who was granted access to late star’s personal diary, personal photos and never-before-seen items.
The documentary will also showcase commentary from a number of Pryor’s close friends, including Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, Mel Brooks, Quincy Jones and several members of the Pryor family. Not much else is known about the film, but all aspects of Pryor’s life, including the darker moments and his transformation into a social critic, as Vibe puts it, will be highlighted.
Thankfully, for those who can’t make it to the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City this April, the documentary will air on Showtime sometime in the future.
