Pharmacists Busola, 26, and Jude, 26, first met as small children at her family’s home. They didn’t remember each other back then, but when they met again in college, it was love at first sight. They were married on April 7, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia. Share their love!
Busola and Jude had only been dating for a month when he said those three magic words every woman wants to hear. So thrilled to know she wasn’t the only one madly in love, Busola wept tears of joy and replied, “I love you too.” For her “something old” on their wedding day, Busola wore her sister’s garter belt from her 7-7-07 wedding day.
“My bouquet consisted of beautiful mango cala lilies, spray, voodoo, coffee break, thistle and ivory vandela roses with diamond accents,” says Busola. “We used the same types of flowers to decorate the altar and reception tables, but there were green grapes and peaches in the base of the vases.” This lovely bouquet is the work of Rita Aderele of Lashe Creations.
Busola wore a wedding gown designed by Martina Liana. “The special touch with my dress was that it had a detachable long over skirt with pockets,” Busola tells us. “So I had a new look for the reception.”
“We wanted to keep the décor elegant, but different,” says Busola. “We definitely did not want boring. I chose peach as our color and had a hard time finding the accent color. Jude loved that we ended up with royal blue.”
Jude and his main men wore suits from Men’s Warehouse to the wedding. He wanted British style grey suits with double slits and he found ‘em. For his look, Jude chose a unique grey and blue plaid-style bow tie. The groomsmen wore peach bow ties to complement the bridesmaids. The bow ties weren’t easy to track down but our persistent groom finally found them online.
The couple’s stylish bridal party posed for these fun, and freestyle portraits on the church grounds. The best way to have frame worthy photos from your wedding day is to ditch the stiffness and just let loose for the cameras.
During the ceremony, a talented friend played the piano, and friends from Busola’s pharmacy school serenaded her as she walked down the aisle. For the wedding quartet, the couple asked high school students from her little sister’s class to come and play for everyone. Such a sweet (and affordable) gesture.
“We had an orchestra quartet play classical music, a photo booth, two drink stations where guests could make an Arnold Palmer and passed hoer d’oeuvres,” says Busola. “The reception was a buffet dinner and iced peach tea was served on request.” We’re impressed with just how many subtle ways the couple found to incorporate peaches into their big day.
The couple’s Georgia peach themed wedding cake was French vanilla with ivory Italian butter cream icing. Each tier had different fillings — the bottom layer was strawberry short cake, the middle tier had a white chocolate mousse filling with raspberry glaze and the top tier was filled with Bailey’s mousse. It was carefully designed by Celso’s Cakes.
