"Alright now, Brother."

Whether it's an "Alright now, Brother," "Stay up, my G," or a simple yet loaded head nod, we've all taken note of the distinct way the Black men in our lives greet each other.

#BlackGirlMagic is the hashtag that bonds Black women together everywhere, but thanks to Howard University professor Dr. Greg Carr, Black men now have a hashtag of their own.

It all started Saturday with one tweet where @AfricanaCarr shares an all too familiar moment with a fellow Black man in the grocery store.

Passed a Black man in the grocery store this morning:

"What's up, Bruh?"
"I'm here, baby."
"No doubt."

There it is. #BlackMenGreetings

Me and the black janitor this AM:

"What's happening big time?"

"I can't call it man"

"I hear ya. Take it easy now"#BlackMenGreetings

"Just keepin' it tight."

"Aiiight now, stay up."

"No doubt." #BlackMenGreetings

Older #BlackMenGreetings (usually in reply):

"Hey now"

"Watch out now" (with a pointed finger)

Older Black man:"What's good youngblood?"

Me:"How you doing, sir? I'm just tryna make it."

Him:"I know that's right." #BlackMenGreetings
