After a new baby derailed their initial wedding plans, Marvin and Natasha eloped in her apartment because they just couldn’t wait to start their family. Five years later they finally threw the wedding of their dreams and it was all that they could have hoped for and more. Share their love!
“I felt special on my wedding day,” says Natasha. “I was the center of attention, which I’m always shy about, but it felt good!”
“Being a bride was everything I’d imagine and more,” says Natasha. “It was one of the best feelings in the world.”
“My initial wedding dress was a Vera Wang, however, it was too small and I didn’t have enough time to lose weight to get into it,” Natasha shares. “It was difficult settling for a new dress because I wanted a more meaningful gown, but I had no choice, we were one month out from my wedding.”
Natasha may not have been able to wear her dream dress down the aisle, but we say she looked stunning all the same.
“I chose orchids, roses, hydrangeas and calla lilies as my flowers of choice,” says Natasha. “I used gorgeous yellow calla lilies for my bridesmaids and maids of honors. My bouquet was made of an array of orchids. At the reception, we used orchids, hydrangeas and roses too. I chose these types of flowers for their opulence and elegance.”
“When I met Natasha, I immediately knew that’s who I was supposed to be with,” says Marvin. “I’d find myself thinking about her smile and the beautiful person she was both inside and out.”
“The bridesmaids dresses came from the David’s Bridal Vera Wang collection,” says Natasha. “I decided to have the girls wear charcoal dresses accented with yellow flowers and platinum shoes.”
Natasha and Marvin tell us their wedding was blooper free, and she couldn’t have bee happier about it.
“He completes me,” Natasha shares. “He is the only person in the world that can make me laugh uncontrollably. At 6’5” he makes me 5’2” me his equal and treats me like a fragile precious stone.”
“My father walked me down the aisle because I wouldn’t have it any other way,” says the beaming bride.
Natasha chose Christina Perri’s sweet love song “A Thousand Years” for her big walk down the aisle.
“We both cried!” Natasha tells us. “Shockingly, he cried while reciting his vows. His vows were beautiful. Everyone complimented him on his vows and said I was a blessed woman.”
“Our ceremony was in a Seventh Day Adventist Church,” says the bride. “It was indoors and we had our family and friends there to witness our union.”
“Our three children, Marvin Jr,, Akira, and Kellan were a part of our special day,” says the bride. “My nieces, Zaria and Zyla Alexander, were also part of my wedding party. My daughter was super excited and she secretly told me she has her wedding day planned too.”
Picture-perfect couple Natasha and Marvin really do make a lovely couple!
“While we were taking pictures, my husband whispered many secrets to me and shared personal sentimental passages with me,” says Natasha. “I hold those in my heart forever. He made me laugh and cry at the same time but it was all joy.”
“I knew Marvin was the one when my parents requested he bring his parents over to meet them,” Natasha recalls. “In my Haitian culture, that was the thing to do. He didn’t bring his parents but he brought his crazy cousin and that was enough for me. I knew he cared and really wanted to be with me.”
“Natasha has one of the most likable personalities ever,” says the proud groom. “She’s friendly to a fault. She cared about me and she showed me how to care for others. Her genuine spirit always made people happy to see her and people are always willing to do so much for her. It was a no brainer to take her off the market.”
“What I love most about Marvin is his decision to put me first,” says Natasha. “In all that he does, he has me in mind. He values my opinion and he spoils me rotten.”
Upgrade Events by Ingrid helped Natasha and Marvin pull of their dream vow renewal ceremony and party with ease. “I would unequivocally suggest that brides hire a planner,” says Natasha. “They catch all the details that you may miss because of lack of experience. They have reliable vendors that are sure to deliver services on your wedding day and you don’t have to worry about someone not showing up because they take the load off your shoulders.”
“My husband and I picked out the venue together,” says the bride. “He loved how the castle made him fell normal sized since he’s always the tallest structure wherever we go. I loved being in charge of every detail.”
“I did surprise my guests by having a strolling table lady serve them our signature drink during cocktail hour,” says Natasha. “The guests loved it!”
Natasha and Marvin entered their reception playing Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”
“We had variety of centerpieces,” says Natasha. “High ones ,low ones and hanging centerpieces with Manzanita branches, phalaenopsis orchids, hanging globes and small arrangement on the tables.”
There were 157 guests in attendance at Natasha and Marvin’s wedding celebration.
“My wedding cake was designed by Chef Mimi of Divine Cakery,” says the bride. “She also designed basketball superstar Amare Stoudemire’s wedding cake. Her cakes taste exceptionally awesome.”
Natasha and Marvin’s castle reception venue was unique and stunning.
“My style was modern vintage chic,” says Natasha. “For the ghost chairs and acrylic tables, we had various sizes of tables to give a different feeling on the modern vintage décor I wanted. We had Gatsby inspired menus, and feathers and pearls on the cocktail tables.”
“For my husband I also invited Sebastian the Ibis, who’s the University of Miami mascot, to attend the wedding, and he did,” says Natasha. “My husband is a fan so I figured he’d love season tickets too.”
