It's Drake's 30th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than by having a little fun with Champagne Papi's catalogue? And so, I present the most epic millennial love story ever, told by Aubrey, because he'll forever and always be the man to make our Hotline’s Bling.
Music has a way of telling amazing stories and there are very few who tell stories through song as well as Drake.
In honor of the Toronto native’s 30th birthday, I give you the most epic millennial love story, as told by the 6God himself.
Girl’s perspective–As soon as the beat drops, you know what you need—just one dance with a hennessy in your hand. You spot the cutie in the club you locked eyes with upon entry and are ready it throw it back something filthy.
Show Me A Good Time:
Girl’s perspective–After the one dance you’ve spent all night fining for happens you have a split second to decide what happens next. Do you let your potential bae walk away or do you shoot your shot with hopes of hitting nothing but net?
Started From the Bottom:
Guys pespective–Her shot was successful and you can only think about how far God has brought you from your awkward middle school days. You really did start from the absolute bottom.
Hate Sleeping Alone:
Girl’s perspective–You and your boo have now been chatting for a few weeks. Pictures on Instagram have been liked, retweets have been shared and Snapchats with the dog filter have been exchanged. You’re in need of a little TLC after feeling lonely and just want to be held.
Girl’s perspective–He said he had plans for a guys night out and wasn’t sure where the night would end. You boldly send that “wya?” text at 1 a.m. and hope for the best.
Guy’s perspective–You were out with your boys and see her name pop up on your screen at a few minutes after 1 a.m. When the text arrives, it could only mean one thing–it’s about to go down!
Guys perspective–It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for and it’s even better than expected.
Guy’s perspective–When it’s all said and done, you feel like THE man!
Best I Ever Had:
Girl’s perspective–You want to curve him so badly but can’t deny him that what you to share is kinda special.
Girl’s perspective–Things are starting to get serious, the two of you have “the talk” and it’s the first instance of vulnerability in your relationship. He’s dealing with a heart he didn’t break but stop you’re finally ready to stop fighting feelings cause you believe your heart is finally in the right hands.
Hold On We’re Going Home:
Girl’s perspective–You’ve left your mark on him, now he’s hooked so now it’s time for the real deal. The two of you have finally made it Instagram official after weeks of emotional subtweets.
Guy’s perspective–Everything has been going good, but a night at the Cheesecake Factory gets real, real quick.
Girls perspective–He pisses you off, you go out for a night with your girls, some bearded man ends up on your snapchat and now HE’s the one who’s angry.
Shot For You:
Guy’s perspective–It’s the first conversation that y’all have after “the incident” and it’s mess. You hit up your boys for a night out but you just aren’t feeling it. All you want to do is drown your sorrows in a bottle.
Girl’s perspective–You hit him up for the first time in weeks because it’s time to sit down one on one. You both realize that you want to make it work but your love languages just aren’t compatible because he gives but he cannot take love.
Guys perspective–You’re finally out doing you and it feels so damn good. You hit the town ready to celebrate your new singledom.
Both of you happen to end up in the club at the same time. One song drops and now you’re both sub-singing at each other as a reminder that your love was taken for granted.
We’ve loved you since you were wheelchair Jimmy on Degrassi and now that you’re the Champagne Papi, we love you even more. Happy 30th Birthday Drake!
