Sleek Ponytail
“Simple and timeless, you can never go wrong with a classic ponytail,” says Pennisi. “Condition your hair, and then comb with a shower comb or a wide-toothed comb in the shower while conditioner is still in it. Gather hair towards the back, use an elastic band to hold pony in place. Set hair with hairspray and use a pomade to keep hair in place, just like Kerry Washington.

A Classic Bun
To get this look, Pennisi suggests using a brush through to make sure that your hair is as snag-free as possible. “Pull your hair back into a tight, ponytail and secure it with a good hair tie,” he says. “Separate the hair in the ponytail into three equal sections and tease each section to give more fullness. Take the bottom of the ponytail and twist it. Spray it with hairspray. Twist the rest of the hair and bring it straight up. Twist it around the ponytail and insert hair pins into the bun.”

Long Waves
“To create gorgeous, flowing beachy waves this summer, first squeeze dry the hair with a towel and section by section apply conditioner and gel mixed together,” says Pennisi. “After the gel and conditioner mix is applied spray the memory spray all over start diffusing until hair is 50% dry. Next, spray a mixture of one capful of conditioner and 8oz water. Begin squeezing with your hand with the dryer on low speed, high heat for a looser, beachy look.”

Hairline Braid
A hairline braid is both stylish and functional! Great way to beat the heat and control your frizz in humid weather. To get this look, Pennisi suggests combing out a section of your hair at the hairline/roots wherever you choose to start the braid. Then divide the section of hair into three equal sections of hair and cross the strands over a couple times to get the braid going. Then pick up sections of hair underneath the first section and on each side of the braid and keep going to complete the look.
