My Selfie Journey: Bianca Roberson

Bianca’s natural hair journey was fueled by frustration, until she decided to become the woman she always dreamt she would be. Going natural is one of the best decisions she ever made—it taught her patience, faith, and contentment.

My hair is…Natural

I started my hair journey…In April 2010. Chemical relaxers were causing painful sores to develop on my scalp.

My current hair regimen includes

Using a clarifying shampoo once a month

Bentonite clay mask once or twice a month

Co-washing every 7-10 days

Sealing the moisture in my hair with olive or coconut oil and shea butter

Using protective or low manipulation styles

My favorite hair products include… Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey and Herbal Essence Hello Hydration.

The secret to having healthy hair is...Diet and Exercise! Eating healthy, regular exercise (yoga and running) and taking a daily multivitamin has aided in the health of my hair.

My biggest hair challenge is…Detangling! My hair is EXTREMELY thick! It can be a challenge to detangle my hair especially after wearing a twist out. Another reason why I love protective styles.

I love my hair because…It's the hair that God has blessed me with. My hair is beautiful and versatile! I can wear a fro on Monday, bun it up on Tuesday, rock a twist out on Wednesday, etc.

My hair crush is... Ebony Clark or @eclark6 on IG. Her hair is long, thick and healthy! We have similar hair types.
