Change Your Salt
Lauren Von Der Pool, celebrity chef and author of Eat Yourself Sexy, says the salt you put in your body can make a world of difference in improving your health. "If you begin to eat Pink Hawaiian Sea Salt you are providing your body with 84 different minerals that your body significantly needs," says Von Der Pool. "Pink sea salt also manages your pH balance, creates an alkaline state in your body, and cuts down on a lot of water retention."

Beware of Sugar
"Many times, people are choosing white sugar and are not aware of the adverse consequences or what's wrong with the intake of high amounts of white sugar," says Von Der Pool. "Start to incorporate coconut nectar, organic honey and maple syrup into your diet instead of white sugar." These changes will help stabilize your body's glucose levels, resulting in more energy and weight loss.

Watch Out for Starchy Foods
According to Von Der Pool, common starchy foods, such as white potatoes, white rice and foods cooked with white flour, are harder for the body to digest, which results in sluggishness and unwanted additional pounds. "Choose whole grains such as brown rice, black rice, red himalayan rice. Instead of using regular pasta, you can use a brown rice pasta or quinoa pasta."
