When I found out I was going to Essence Festival, naturally the thought going through my head was, “What am I going to wear?” Between the New Orleans heat, being there for a week, and all the events happening throughout the day and night, I was overwhelmed with exactly how to plan my outfits.
Questions like, “How professional should I look?” and “What shoes should I bring?” started to haunt me as the big weekend drew closer.
However, the week before I left, clothes started pouring in. Retailers like Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, and Shein came to my rescue for affordable finds that allowed me to pull off a quick look without the heavy lift of searching through multiple tabs. I accessorized each of my outfits with bags from Telfar, Tree Fairfax, The Style Animal Co and wore hair clips from the Kitsch x Justine Marjan collection. In other words, I was happy with how my looks came together.
