Monique Billings and Aerial Powers are proving their talent and vision extends beyond the hardwood. Both basketball powerhouses are stepping into hosting roles on the digital sports network, PlayersTV.
Billings, a Golden State Valkyries forward, is deep diving into discussions with top-tier guests about balance, mental health and self-care with her highly anticipated new show, Breathe Through It With Monique Billings.
With yoga mats as their hot seats, Billings guides guests in and outside of the sports space through yoga and meditation flows while they open up about their personal and professional journeys.
Billings says she’s adamant about making sure she’s meeting guests and viewers exactly where they are.
“As much as I can, I try to use my platform to be that light and inspiration for people to learn about who they are outside of what they do, athlete or not. I feel like that’s so important and something that’s not talked about,” she says.
Also, acknowledging the importance of highlighting Black narratives in positive ways, Billings shares space with several dynamic Black sports figures, including WNBA All-Star, Tiffany “Tip” Hayes and 2015 NBA champion, Festus Ezeli.
Billings also shares space with her PlayersTV teammate, Aerial Powers, who’s highly touted new show, Aerial View With Aerial Powers, is combining comedic timing, transparency and empowerment to entertain and inspire viewers from all walks of life.
Banking on her passion, the momentum from her playoff run with the Indiana Fever, gaming success and modeling deals, Powers is pushing for her show to pack a strong punch aimed at giving guests room to explore their lives inside and outside their professions.
To add more sauce to her show recipe, Powers shares the stage with her co-host, best friend and former college teammate, Mariah Harris.
From sit-downs with entrepreneurs like, PlayersTV Co-Founder, Deron Guidrey, to pro-athletes such as, Dallas Cowboys defensive end, Sam Williams, Powers consistently seeks authentic encounters and remains open to boundless possibilities.
When expressing what she hopes for viewers and interviewees, Powers says, “We’re going to have fun, we’re going to make you laugh, but at the end of the day your mindset is going to shift…the show is going to help shift your mind to a healthy, positive and motivated mindset.”
Both Billings and Powers are braced to take the digital sports space by storm, and they’re excitement is potent.
Powers says this moment in her career means everything.
“This opportunity is like a dream come true. I’m here on earth to inspire, and however I can do that, that’s what I’m going to do,” she says.
Billings’ passion for people to be seen in the fullness of their light and her quest to aid in helping them achieve balance is her main source of motivation.
“I hope the flow of this show helps people see a different side of their fan favorites. I want people to leave the show feeling inspired, rejuvenated and refreshed,” she says.
