Yep, We're Still Laughing At Black Twitter's Jokes Following Yahoo Finance's "Ni**er Navy" Tweet

Yahoo Finance kicked off 2017 with a typo that Twitter won't soon forget.

If social media has taught us nothing else, it’s that 140 characters is more than enough to land you on the Twitter chopping block. The good folks over at Yahoo Finance had their turn in the hot seat to close out the week. In a tweet sent out late Thursday evening, the popular media hub was apparently intending to share one of their recent articles about Donald Trump’s plans to amp up the U.S. Navy, but a typo in the headline put a completely different twist on the message.   Shortly after the tweet went viral, Yahoo quickly realized the error, deleted the message, and apologized for the mixup. We deleted an earlier tweet due to a spelling error. We apologize for the mistake.

Most interpreted Yahoo’s apology as genuine and took the racial slur included in their original headline as accidental––the “B” is next to the “N” in keyboard land––but that certainly doesn’t mean Black Twitter let them off the hook with the jokes. It’s only fair, right? Here’s a look at a few of the funniest reactions to the hilariously inappropriate social media mishap.
