Rickey Smiley has been hospitalized. The comedian and radio personality revealed the news by sharing an Instagram video of himself from his hospital room.
“I been in the hospital since Monday. I don’t know what the hell is going on,” he says in the video. He opted not to share explicit details of his condition with his followers, instead saying that he was being treated well and that everyone had been nice to him. Smiley also instructed his fans to listen to their doctors if ever hospitalized, and shared that he was “getting up and walking around,” as he was told to.
The 50-year-old morning show host paused in between statements in the video to use what appeared to be an apparatus to assist with his breathing. “December has been a rough, rough, rough month,” he wrote in the video’s caption.He concluded the caption by sharing his belief that his faith in a higher power was unshaken by his illness. “Thank you for your well wishes,” he added, using the hashtag #JesusIsMyDoctor.Get well soon!
