Ciara shook the table this weekend when she co-signed a video that appeared to disparage single women who want to be married— a move that has left many women on social media angry.

The singer reposted a clip of well-known Pastor John Gray giving a sermon about single women who are looking to become wives.

“A wife is not the presence of a ring, it’s the presence of your character,” he says in the clip. “Too many women want to be married, but you’re walking in the spirit of a girlfriend."

He added: "Ask the lord to deliver you from that spirit, and carry yourself like you are already taken. And I promise you when you carry yourself like a wife, a husband will find you.”

Ciara co-signed the clip with the hashtag #levelup.

But a number of women are pushing back, calling out Ciara for her apparent hypocrisy given her own tumultuous journey to the altar. And they are dragging her accordingly:

Ciara, who is currently on vacation with her husband Russell Wilson, has yet to comment on the controversy almost a day after she posted it.
