Nothing makes us smile more than seeing our stars embrace their natural hair. While Hollywood still pushes the standard of beauty that may make some Black celebs feel the need to straighten, color and elongate their strands, seeing our stars revel in their mane’s natural glory is inspiring and empowering. And these days more and more of them are showing off their natural hair. Here are just a few of our fave looks from 2018. Beyoncé We love when Bey rocks her natural honey tresses and even more so when she adds some major body with waves and a high pony.

Danielle Brooks This short style on Brooks is super chic and cute, and it brings out the gorgeous features in her face. Issa Rae Every time Rae serves up a look, it’s truly a lewk. We can’t get enough of this textured messy bun.

Lupita N’yongo We love the versatility of N’yongo’s hair, and this golden twine throughout her strands really took us there. Yaya Dacosta Dacosta always gives us realness, but the photo of her locks flying free gives us “carefree Black girl” vibes that we are here for.

Cynthia Erivo This short, blond style from Cynthia makes us want to grab the nearest pair of clippers and do another Big Chop. Viola Davis Davis’s strikingly elegant and regal fro is fire. A short one can bring such strength to a look.

Lena Waithe When Waithe went from long, big locs to a short buzz cut, we could literally feel a shift in the atmosphere. We like the change and can’t wait to see what comes with it. Amirah Vann Vann’s sophisticated pompadour is fabulous.

Natasha Rothwell Rothwell’s bouncy and buoyant curls are fun and playful in this gorgeous pineapple. Jill Scott Scott’s voluminous, textured hair shines like a beautiful crown and lights up the red carpet. Tia Mowry We love how Mowry has been documenting her hair journey, including how it’s graying. These blossoming curls are a major stunna as well.
