On episode 2 of The Boss Lady Project sponsored by Ford, professional ballerina Misty Copeland spends a little one-on-one time with 14-year-old dancer Raegan Taylor.

The pair starts the day out at the infamous Steps on Broadway dance studio in New York City, before later heading to check out a preview of Misty’s new clothing line. The ladies then sit down for a quick chat, with Misty opening up about her journey to making history as the first Black woman to become a principal dancer at the prestigious American Ballet Theatre.

“It’s exciting to see someone like her that’s a Black woman in the ballet world,” Misty says upon meeting Raegan for the first time. “And the color of her skin doesn’t even seem to be something that she’s, like, worried about, which is amazing.”

For Raegan, who hails from Washington, D.C. and has been dancing since she was just 4 years old, meeting Misty was a dream come true for various reasons. “She was just a little girl in a small house with a bunch of siblings and now she’s one of the biggest ballerinas in the world and an entrepreneur at that,” Reagan says. “So, one big thing that I took away [from meeting her] was, anything that you put your mind to, you can do it.”
