We are getting a Kirk Franklin biopic!

Deadline reports that DeVon Franklin is attached to produce Sony’s upcoming biopic about the Grammy-winning gospel singer.

Franklin will produce the biopic through his company Franklin Entertainment, while the “Love Theory” singer will executive produce through his own label, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment.

Brian Ivie, writer and director of Emmanuel, has been tapped to pen the script.

The biopic will follow the singer’s rise to fame and his struggles along the way.

The gospel singer’s story is certainly one made for the screen. In June, Kirk Franklin became the first artist in history to simultaneously top all five gospel Billboard charts following the release of Long Live Love.

And last year, the singer opened up about losing his biological father just weeks after the pair had reconciled.

Further details about the biopic have yet to be released.
