President Obama opens up about what it takes to "sit behind the desk" during a Clinton campaign rally, and reveals Sasha has an (unofficial) Twitter account. (Don't worry, we'll be checking on this!)
Obama told the crowd, "Everybody’s got an opinion, but nobody actually knows the job until you’re sitting behind the desk. Everybody can tweet, but nobody actually knows what it takes to do the job until you’ve sat behind the desk. I mean—Sasha tweets, but she doesn’t think that she thereby should be sitting down at the desk."
Neither of his daughters has an official Twitter account, and honestly, like quite a few dads, Obama may have gotten texting or something confused with Twitter. Maybe he was simply referring to something else.
The Obamas have spoken many times about their daughters' use of social media. The First Lady told Barbara Walters in 2013, "I still am not a big believer in Facebook for young people … particularly for them, because they’re in the public eye. Some of it’s stuff they don’t need to see and be a part of … So we try to protect them from too much of the public voice."
