After eight years in the White House, the world watches Malia Obama graduate from high school.

This morning, President Obama's eldest daughter, Malia, graduated from Sidwell Friends School. On the school's Facebook page is a photo of the class of 2016 with the caption, "On a perfect June morning, joyfulness re16ned as the Class of 2016 received their diplomas."

Malia Obama Has Decided to Attend Harvard University—After Taking a Gap Year

Obama told Jimmy Fallon on last night's Tonight Show that he'd definitely be a little teary-eyed watching his daughter graduate and now we're getting a little teary-eyed too because America has watched Malia grow into an amazing young woman. 

According to ABC, the Obamas celebrated Malia's graduation with lunch at Cafe Milano. The 17-year-old will be attending Harvard next fall after a gap year.

Malia's graduation isn't the only thing the Obamas are celebrating. Today is also Sasha's birthday. Happy birthday, Sasha! And, congrats Malia! We can't wait to see what the future has in store for you.
