The celebrity stylist aims to bridge the gap between new designers and industry vets.
Kanayo Ebi has set out to solve one of fashion's biggest challenges: bridging the gap between new designers and industry vets.
The celebrity stylist and image consultant, who boasts Angela Simmons, Kate Winslet, Coca-Cola, and BET as clients, opened her showroom Kach Me If You Can in Long Island City's buzzing arts scene to promote emerging, international designers.
Kanayo set up the New York showroom after meeting two exceptionally talented UK-based designers while on a trip to London. "I get a thrill from discovering and developing new brands and watching it blossom from something good into something great," she told Black Enterprise.
Apart from her travels, the fashion entrepreneur credits Instagram with helping her discover and connect with one-of-a-kind brands, ranging from ready-to-wear clothing to avant-garde footwear and accessories.
So who's next big name on her roster? Hers!
She recently partnered with Thandos Shoes on foldable 'kachmeifyoucan' flats that were so successful she was asked to design a follow up edition 'kachmeifyoucan-midnight'. She is also in the process of designing her own fashion line.
