Yara Shahidi had said before that her mother, Keri Shahidi, is a big inspiration in her life, so to celebrate Mother's Day she sat down with her mom for a funny and heartfelt conversation.

The mother-daughter interview is absolutely adorable ranging from the two rapping Nas songs to Yara opening about how her mother has influenced her career.

Yara Shahidi Is Setting an Example for Teens and Adults

"You have guided me throughout this industry so that I do what I love and I feel like that’s not common. What I learned was that you made the character whether it was a woman biting into cheese, whether it was us at the beach together, you made the character somebody who you aspire to be," Yara tells her mom.

In The Huffington Post video, the two also share the lessons they've learned from each other, which is one of the sweetest moments of the conversation. And, when asked what her favorite thing is when it comes to being a mom, Keri tells her daughter, "You truly leave me astounded. That would be it, you leave me astounded."
