The show will follow a couple who relive moments in their relationship through flashbacks while friends and family give toasts during their rehearsal dinner.
Many avid Grey's Anatomy fans believe that Jackson Avery and April Kepner truly belong together, and maybe that's true. Others—maybe it's just us—are still a little salty over the way Jackson broke Stephanie Edwards's heart. But Stephanie has picked up the pieces and moved on, quickly becoming a stellar surgical resident on the show. That, however, might change.
Jerrika Hinton, who plays Stephanie, has been cast as the female lead in Toast, a Shondaland comedy about a married couple who relive various moments in their relationship through a series of flashbacks while their family and friends share anecdotes and give toasts during their rehearsal dinner. Hinton will play the bride-to-be opposite Jono Kenyon, her soon-to-be husband.
At the moment Hinton's role will have no impact on her status at Grey's, but if the show gets picked up that could all change.
Please, Shonda, if ABC give this show the green light, do not kill Stephanie. Just let her move to a new hospital, let her have a happy ending. Please, please! Fans can't handle anymore death—we're still not over Derek.
