Black Girl Magic is in the air tonight at the Golden Globes!

One year after we were blessed with the magic that is Empire, Taraji P. Henson is taking home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama for her fierce character of Cookie Lyon on Empire.

“Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?” joked Henson. “It shows that the world loves real.” As the teleprompter told Taraji to wrap, the actress quipped, “I waited 20 years for this. You’re gonna wait.”

“My fans have been praying for this. You’ve got to give me time.”

This is Henson’s first Golden Globe (though she was nominated last year for Empire!).

Slay, Taraji, slay!
