Sanaa Lathan is set to star in and executive produce Omar Tyree's Flyy Girl, based on the famous book trilogy. Sanaa, who will play the character Tracy Ellison, spoke about the upcoming project saying, “So many people have grown up on this series and I’m looking forward to bringing Tracy Ellison’s story to life through film." Expect to see Sanaa Lathan appear on your television screens: the actress landed a role in a currently untitled Fox series, where she will be working alongside writers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood.  

The plot will center around consequences that ensue after an African-American police officer shoots and kills a white teen in Tennessee.

This will be Lathan's first time in 15 years that she will be re-uniting with writers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood, as well as the actress' first television role since her work in Boss, Nip/Tuck, and The Cleveland Show.
