Sweet Serendipity
Sometimes the love of your life can be right under your nose, but you just haven’t had a chance to meet them yet. Lovely bride Thysha and her new husband Shaun’s brownstones were just six doors apart in New York City for years before they actually met each other. When their paths finally crossed it was at a local event at a nearby home. “We were both at the party for hours and at the end of the night he approached me and we started to talk,” she recalls. “Within 30 minutes it felt like we were the only people in the entire brownstone. He talked about his desire to create theater that engages black people our age, and I talked about my love for Black American culture and my position at a major television network at the time.” Before she left the party, Thysha went into the bathroom and prayed that Shaun would ask her for her phone number. On her way out of the door, her prayers were answered.

Hide and Seek
Shaun asked Thysha to marry him on Easter weekend. When Thysha went out with a friend that Saturday night she had no idea it was all a stalling tactic. “She was told to keep me out the house until a certain time,” Thysha shares. “When I finally came home, I opened the door and there were candles all over the place. Shaun had set up an Easter egg hunt. Every time I found an egg and opened it there was a note inside and he would play me a song. Finally there was a golden egg, which Thysha found in Shaun’s pocket. When she opened that egg, she saw a beautiful engagement ring. “He got on one knee and asked me to be his wife!” See their lovely Bohemian wedding style and share their love!
