Oscar winner Mo'Nique returns to the big screen, starring in the indie coming-of-age film, Blackbird.

Co-starring Isaiah Washington and directed by Patrik Ian-Polk, Blackbird centers around a talented teenager (played by newcomer Julian Walker) struggling with his sexuality, his religion and troubled home. This is Mo'Nique's first feature film since 2009's Steppin: The Movie.

Blackbird will close the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles which runs through February 17.
