The 42 star will play the legendary Godfather of Soul in a new biopic out in August.
Fresh from his critically-acclaimed portrayal of Jackie Robinson in the biopic 42, actor Chadwick Boseman will play James Brown in the new biopic Get on Up that's slated for a summer release. In a newly released photo scooped by Entertainment Weekly, Boseman is pictured mid-song strongly resembling the the Godfather of Soul.
“Oh my god, Chad’s having so much fun," said director Tate Taylor, who also directed The Help.
The film boasts an all-star roster of talent, including Help co-stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer as Brown's mother. Singer Jill Scott also portrays one of Brown's wives.
Get on Up hits theaters August, 1, 2014.
