Hairstylist Shunika Terry reveals how she brought TLC's iconic tresses back to life in their upcoming biopic.
World-famous girl group TLC is just as well known for their funky style and trendsetting tresses as they are for their music. Between T-Boz, Chilli and Left Eye, there was never a dull moment when it came to designing a bevy of head-turning hairstyles.
Now, fans and followers of the hit group will get to relive their highs and lows in the new biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, premiering October 21, which chronicles the group’s rise to fame. Lead hairstylist for the film, Shunika Terry, says it was a challenge to recreate TLC's eclectic styles, but it was a lot of fun, too.
"I would keep the ‘90s music blasting on set and if we had to do the sequence for the video I’d put my laptop on and we’d just play the videos over and over," says Terry. "The music really helped us get in the mood for everything. It was a trip down memory lane."
Read on for more of Terry's secrets as she talks TLC and their bold mane moments.
