Def Jam's pop princess is armed and dangerous with the unveiling of her new gun tatoo. Find out what inspired her sudden change of art.
Don't let pop princess Rihanna's good looks fool you. She might be a Bajan beauty but she's also armed and dangerous, well, at least her new tatoo suggests she is. If violence begets violence, then the "Umbrella" singer's new gun tatoo speaks volumes especially after she was allegedly punched, choked and bitten by on-again-off-again beau Chris Brown. The Def Jam princess flew New York-based tattoo artist BangBang out to Los Angeles to do the honors on her ribcage, just below her right armpit.
According to BangBang's MySpace messages, Rihanna wanted the guns on either side of her shoulder. However, as a CoverGirl spokesmodel she decided that her full frontal view should remain devoid of such controversial icons.
"I really wanted to put it here... she loved 'em... but, cover girl wouldn't have liked it much... and they pay the bills!" he wrote under the photo on his MySpace page, captioning another, "ended up doing it on her ribs..."
But this isn't the first time BangBang has tagged the songstress whose body art includes a collection of stars from her neck to her back, a music note on her ankle, a Pisces sign behind her right ear, a tribal tattoo on her hand and the word "Shhh..." on her index finger.
Ironically, Rihanna's unveiling comes a day after news broke that Los Angeles is trying to pass Rihanna's law, which would prohibit the release of images or information that exploits victims of crimes. After Rihanna's photo was leaked by TMZ.com, who posted the photo after it had been submitted as evidence. The Los Angeles Police Department continues to investigate the possible leak and sale of the photo to the site.
