Police Want Tiger’s Home Surveillance Tape
Florida Highway Patrol officials are bent on knowing just what went down at Tiger Woods’ home before he crashed his Cadillac Escalade in front of the home at 2:25 a.m. on Friday November 27. After learning that the tennis pro’s home is outfitted with surveillance cameras, they’re after the tape. According to TMZ, at least one video should show Woods exiting the home and may be able to verify or disprove claims of domestic violence.

Police Seek Warrant for Tiger Woods Case
UPDATE 11/30/09: Although Tiger Woods said his wife Elin Nordegren “acted courageously” after he crashed his car just outside of their Florida home, the Florida Highway Patrol may not be satisfied. According to TMZ, the FPH is seeking a search warrant so that they may obtain medical records from the hospital where Woods was treated to determine whether the lacerations he suffered were from the accident or from domestic violence.
To obtain a warrant, the police must show probable cause that a crime was committed. Apparently they may be able to find it in Nordegren’s not-so-straight stories. Nordegren told Windemere police that she went outside, discovered Tiger’s crash and then ran back to the house to grab a golf club to break the car window and rescue her husband. However, she told FPH that she searched for Woods in a golf cart and grabbed the golf club once she discovered he was stuck in his Cadillac Escalade.
Authorities may also be able to gain a search warrant if there’s probable cause that Tiger was under the influence. While they ruled out alcohol, TMZ previously reported that Woods had been taking pain medication.

CNN pointed out today that Tiger, who is known to be very private, is not required to talk to the police if he doesn’t want to.

Tiger Speaks Out, Says His Wife ‘Acted Courageously’
UPDATE 11/29/09: Tiger Woods has finally spoken out about his accident over the weekend. In a released statement on his website, Woods says the incident is a ‘private matter’.
“Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible,” he adds.
Addressing rumors that his wife may have caused his injuries, Woods defended her. “The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false,” he says. “This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”

Police Turned Away From Tiger Woods Home, Twice
UPDATE 11/28/09: Police have now been turned away from the superstar golfer Tiger Woods’ home twice following yesterday’s crash, reports TMZ. Both times, police were told Woods was unavailable. They’re said to be investigating whether Woods’ injuries are consistent with scratch marks (from his wife) or lacerations from the car accident. Sources believe Woods might be stalling in hopes that his wounds will heal. His wife Elin would be charged with domestic abuse if it’s found that she caused his injuries.
Police to question Woods about accident
UPDATE 11/28/09: As more details emerge about Tiger Woods’ Saturday morning crash, police are saying they would like to talk to the professional golfer. The first question, according to the Associated Press: Where was he going at 2:25am? And why did no one from his camp report the incident until 13 hours later?
Shortly after the accident, police say they found Woods on the ground with his wife, Elin Nordegren, hovering above him. “She was frantic, upset,” an officer told the Edwardsville Intelligencer.
But a TMZ source reports that Woods’ facial lacerations may have been caused by his wife during a heated argument after a recent story in the National Enquirer linked him to a Manhattan nightclub hostess. The source says Nordregan chased Woods’ with a golf club, hitting his car as he ran from their home.
There was also no blood found on the steering wheel, causing even more rumors to swirl about the cause of Woods’ injuries. TMZ reports that Nordregan may have told officers a different story than what was initially reported in the media.
Officers from the Florida Highway Patrol are expected to speak with Woods today.
