First Lady Michelle Obama is set to make a lasting impression on the 2011 class of Spelman College. On May 18th, she will address the 500 graduates, says a White House insider.
Mrs. Obama will highlight her upbringing and “significance of being part of the first generation in her family to graduate from college,” says a source. Of course, she will encourage the young women to “continue to serve their communities, embrace the challenges ahead of them, and strive to fulfill their ambitious goals.”
Spelman will more than likely be one stop on a list of colleges and universities the First Couple will address. Already this commencement season will find the First Lady giving speeches at University of Northern Iowa and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, according to the Grio.
Congratulations to all the soon-to-be graduates!
