Steffans recently hit back at those on Twitter who used her past to diminish her accomplishments reminding followers that two of the most iconic women in history, Oprah and Maya Angelou, have faced sexual abuse. She tweeted:

Steffans went on to explain that both women have difficult pasts and many successful women do and that it shouldn’t be what defines them.
