R&B superstar Usher Raymond and his wife Tameka, the owner of Swanky Image Group and Hides & Dungarees denim and leather collection, welcomed their son, Usher Raymond V, into their family in an Atlanta hospital on Monday, November 26 at 9:55 p.m.
The couple’s first born weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces “We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son,” the couple said in a statement. “What a blessing!”
Usher’s mother and former manager Jonetta Patton told people.com that she’s “extremely excited and filled with joy about the birth of my grandson, Usher Raymond V. He is beautiful, precious, healthy and such a blessing. I’m very happy for my son and his wife. God has truly blessed them with a special gift. This will be an amazing holiday season for all of us.”
Usher, 29, and Tameka, 36, announced the pregnancy in June and married in a quiet ceremony in Atlanta on September 1. The newest Raymond is the first child for Usher and the fourth addition to their blended family. Tameka has three sons from previous relationships.
In October, Usher told ESSENCE “Tameka’s given me one of the greatest gifts I’ll ever have. With a child, now I have purpose. I understand love.”
This past June, Tameka told ESSENCE.com “This is the man I love and plan to spend the rest of my life with, so why wouldn’t I want to share that bond of bringing another life into this world with him?”
