Let the church say Amen! September is now officially National Gospel Music Heritage Month courtesy of The Gospel Music Channel (GMC) and Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee and other members of Congress and Senate. The idea was presented and passed by the House of Representatives last June. Gospel greats young and old have been featured on-air, online and on-demand on the GMC all month long.
“This is the opportunity for the millions of gospel (or) Christian music fans to have their own national month to honor and celebrate the rich heritage of their music,” said GMC founder and president Charles Humbard.
Spirited gospel performer Tye Tribbett, dynamos and dynamos Mary Mary are among many who’ve recorded a video sharing their testimonies in an effort to spread the message this month.
